Didier MORISSONNAUD
Hand-Weaver
Craft National Living Treasures 2002

To weave manually in the twenty-first century is to be able to reproduce for restoration the most beautiful fabric that decorates the national palaces or rich residences; it is also to be able to answer to the demands of the creators for small quantities.

It is within one of the last great silk factories of Tours, the Le Manach house, located in Tours since 1829, that Didier Morissonnaud participates in these prestigious creations.

Convinced that this trade must also open up to modern creations,
Didier Morissonnaud, since the year 2000, makes textile works in contemporary motifs woven according to the traditional techniques of weaving on a manual Jacquard loom.

A few creations: Paul Getty Museum (USA), Château de Compiègne, Château de Fontainebleau, Palais grand Ducal (Luxembourg)
